About this destination
Ivory Coast lies on the Atlantic coast of West Africa. Yamoussoukro is its political capital, while Abidjan is its principal economic centre. Abidjan's lagoons and port illustrate the importance of coastal geography.
French is the official language, alongside many local languages. The landscape changes from southern forest zones to northern savanna. Cocoa cultivation has an important place in the country's economy.
Music, local food and diverse regional traditions contribute to its cultural life. Coastal towns such as Grand-Bassam preserve historical architecture, while energy and industrial infrastructure form part of the country's modern development.
My connection
From late 2021 to 2022, I worked with Aquila Engineering for Foxtrot as start-up manager on gas-regeneration facilities associated with the CIPREL 5 power station. I followed the subcontractor's work, prepared MEP pre-commissioning and coordinated quality, work permits, safety instructions and corrective actions.
