About this destination
Norway lies in northern Europe along the Atlantic and Arctic-facing edge of Scandinavia. Oslo is its capital. Fjords, mountains and a deeply indented coastline characterise much of the country.
Coastal navigation and fishing have long shaped settlement. Norwegian is the principal language, while Sámi languages and heritage are important in the north. Bergen preserves traces of its maritime trading history.
Northern regions experience marked seasonal changes in daylight. Hydroelectricity, offshore energy and engineering form a modern industrial dimension alongside the country's extensive natural landscapes and strong maritime traditions.
My connection
In 1998, I trained with ABB in Norway on static power-conversion equipment. This technical training complemented my experience in electrical systems and maintenance.
