About this destination
Qatar occupies a peninsula extending into the Arabian Gulf. Doha is its capital and principal urban centre. Its landscape is largely flat and arid, with coastal areas and desert dunes.
Maritime trade and pearl diving formed important parts of its earlier history. Natural gas development has profoundly influenced its modern economy and infrastructure. Arabic is the official language.
Doha's waterfront, museums and traditional market provide different perspectives on the city. Industrial facilities around Ras Laffan illustrate the country's energy role, while historic sites and desert landscapes preserve connections with life before the large-scale development of hydrocarbons.
My connection
Beginning in November 2023, I took an E/I discipline-manager assignment with Technip Energies on the NFS project. The responsibilities recorded in my 2026 CV cover electrical and instrumentation construction support, completions, progressive energisation and handover, together with 400 kV and 132 kV underground power lines and cathodic protection for cooling-water pipes.
